AICE Australian Film Festival 2007, Opening Night in Tel AvivTel Aviv film lovers came out in force to the Opening Night of the AICE Australian Film Festival 2007 at the Cinematheque in June. The acclaimed and award winning ‘Jindabyne’, directed by Ray Lawrence, had been selected to open the 4th film festival. Lawrence is a familiar figure to Israeli film goers – his previous film, ‘Lantana’, being a huge success in Israel (and one of the few Australian films given a commercial distribution). Stars of theatre, film and television, politicians and media personalities were present as the Australian Ambassador, James Larsen and Artistic Director of the Film Festival, Sue Maslin, launched proceedings.
