Micah Lewensohn, Melbourne

Albert and Debbie Dadon hosted a reception at their home in honour of acclaimed theatre director and former Artistic Director of the Israel Festival, Jerusalem, Micah Lewensohn and his wife, Rachel, in early October.

As the longest serving Artistic Director of the Festival, Micah's knowledge in Israeli and international culture is wide and diverse. As an acclaimed and award-winning theatre and opera director, he is ideally placed to explore the promotion of Israeli new writing for the theatre in Australia and vice versa.

Representatives from the artistic, media, political and Jewish communities in Melbourne attended the reception, where Micah spoke of his experiences in theatre (including the response to his recent production in Israel of the controversial musical 'The Producers') and his meetings in Australia. Michael Danby MP provided the speech of thanks to Micah.
